ELEANOR GRANGE E.D.H.

I have worked in the dental profession since I left school at 17, starting out as a young dental assistant.  I trained for the Certificate for DSA’s at Newcastle Dental Hospital, gaining a Merit in 1991, and I remained working within the hospital environment for a year or so thereafter.

I was soon keen to further my career, and so training to be a dental hygienist was an obvious progression.  I gained my Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Newcastle School of Dental Hygiene in 1993 and then developed a varied career.

To begin with I worked as a staff hygienist on the Periodontology and Orthodontic clinics,  was part of the University clinical research team for part of the week & also worked a day in a general dental practice.  Itchy feet soon saw me taking a one year position in New Zealand…but I stayed for a wonderful four years!

I returned to England in 2001, to work at Boots Dental Care and moved to the Home Counties.  Jump forward 10 years (where did they go?) and I now live happily in Tring and work in a private dental practice.

I think I take a good approach to my work – professional but friendly, gentle but thorough, idealist but realist!  I put in 100% while I am at work, and outside of that I enjoy a relaxed and pleasant life doing very ordinary things.
